Taxi Transport Subsidy Scheme (NSW)

The Taxi Transport Subsidy Scheme (TTSS) supports NSW residents who are unable to use public transport because of a severe and permanent disability.

If you’re eligible, you could receive a subsidy of 50% of a taxi fare, up to a maximum subsidy of $60, and only pay the remaining fare. This includes travel in wheelchair-accessible taxis.

Taxi Subsidy Scheme and Lift Payment (Qld)

TSS pays half the value of a member’s taxi fare, up to a maximum fare of $60. There is no limit on the number of taxi journeys a member may take to attract the subsidy. The subsidy is paid to taxi drivers—members have no additional costs.

Taxi Fare Subsidy Scheme (SA)

People with permanent and severe disabilities that limit their ability to use public transport may apply for subsidised taxi fares:

-75 per cent subsidy for people who are permanently dependent upon a wheelchair for mobility (maximum subsidy of $30 per trip)
-50 per cent subsidy for people who are not permanently dependent upon a wheelchair for mobility (maximum subsidy of $20 per trip)

Oxygen supplement

This supplement is for providers of Home Care Packages and residential aged care.

Care recipients who have a long-term medical need for continuous oxygen are eligible for this supplement.

The supplement is not payable for an emergency or for short-term illnesses, such as bronchitis.

The residential or home care provider must have hired, have borrowed or own the equipment used to provide the oxygen.

You will need a certificate from either a medical practitioner (a doctor) or a nurse practitioner stating the care recipient’s:

-oxygen requirements
-continual need for the administration of oxygen.
